The Elroq has cemented itself as Europe's second best-selling electric SUV with over 95,300 units delivered in 2025, while the Enyaq holds seventh place. To keep this momentum, Skoda is rolling out a series of major updates from mid-2026: new LFP batteries, Android infotainment, V2L function, and a 21-litre frunk.

"The Elroq 60 switches to a 58 kWh LFP battery with a 140 kW motor, but charging power drops to 105 kW from 165 kW previously" — Skoda International

Android Arrives in the Cabin

The two Czech SUVs get a completely redesigned Android interface. The home screen is clearer with a customizable grid layout and ultra-fast search. The real game-changer? A built-in App Store right in the car. Spotify, YouTube, games, weather... everything is accessible without your smartphone.

Digital Key makes its debut at Skoda. Your phone permanently replaces the traditional key: unlocking, locking, and starting are all managed via the app. Even better, you can share access with family directly through the Wallet app.

💡 Did you know?
The Powerpass service is now integrated into the navigation with over a million charging points across 28 European countries, displaying prices and user ratings for chargers.

LFP Battery: Less Power, More Endurance

The most significant change hits the entry-level 60 versions. Out goes the 59 kWh NMC battery, in come LFP cells with 58 kWh net capacity and Cell-to-Pack architecture. This tech, already adopted by Ford for its Explorer and Capri, promises a longer lifespan and reduced production costs.

The downside? Motor power drops from 150 to 140 kW (190 hp), and acceleration takes a slight hit. The Elroq 60 now does 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds, up from 8.0. More penalizing, the maximum fast-charging power plummets to 105 kW, stretching the 10-80% charge time to 26 minutes.

💡 Key Figure
Towing capacity jumps to 1.8 tonnes for all versions equipped with the 85 kWh battery, regardless of the drivetrain system.

What's the Range with the New Batteries?

Skoda is keeping quiet on the WLTP range figures for the LFP versions. Only performance data has been shared at this stage. The 85 versions keep their 77 kWh net capacity with ranges between 503 and 573 km depending on the spec.

A Frunk, Finally!

A first for the MEB platform at Skoda: the arrival of a 21-litre frunk under the front bonnet. This extra boot, equipped with gas struts for easy opening, can hold charging cables or small items. A detail that makes a real difference in daily life.

The wireless Phone Box charging evolves to the magnetic Qi2 standard with power up to 25 W. All USB-C ports in the cabin are bumped up to 45 W. Even more practical, the Tips app guides users with mini-tutorials to unlock all the hidden functions.

V2L and One-Pedal Driving

The V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) function turns your Skoda into a mobile power source. Plug in a camping fridge, power tools, or charge an e-bike directly from the battery. A 230V socket in the boot completes the setup.

The One Pedal mode is refined with two levels of energy recuperation. A complete stop is now possible without touching the brake pedal, making urban driving smoother.

💡 Technical Point
Travel Assist 3.0 integrates new radars and sensors for ultra-precise lane-keeping, while a camera monitors driver attention.

Facing the Competition, What's the Strategy?

The Elroq is well ahead of the Tesla Model Y in Europe with its 95,300 sales versus around 85,000 for the American. The Enyaq holds its own in the top 10 with 79,600 registrations. This success is down to a compelling price/equipment ratio and a pragmatic approach to technology.

For comparison, the MG MGS6 EV offers 362 hp and 485 km of range for around €54,000 in 4x4 trim. Its 102-litre frunk beats Skoda's 21 litres, but its 38-minute 10-80% fast-charge time is a notable step behind the Czech SUVs' 26-28 minutes.

Starting From What Price?

Skoda hasn't yet revealed the final prices for the 2026 versions. Current prices start at £34,000 for the Elroq and £40,000 for the Enyaq.
