Xiaomi Vision GT: Virtual Hypercar for Gran Turismo 7

Xiaomi unveils its Vision GT at MWC 2026 Barcelona, an electric hypercar exclusively for Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation 5. The Chinese tech giant becomes the first technology brand and first Chinese automaker invited to the prestigious Vision Gran Turismo program.
"Creating a Vision GT is a dream journey for any automotive designer. It gives us the opportunity to rethink hypercar design from the perspective of a technology company" — Tianyuan Li, Design Director at Xiaomi EV
A Virtual Hypercar with Extreme Proportions
The Xiaomi Vision GT features radical hypercar proportions: an advanced cabin, ultra-wide tracks, and aerodynamically sculpted surfaces. The design draws on aesthetic codes already seen on the SU7 and YU7 SUV, but pushed to extremes. The water-drop shaped cabin integrates shell seats molded directly into the bodywork, like on a Le Mans prototype.
Aerodynamics is the designers' main obsession. The car boasts a drag coefficient of 0.29 and an aerodynamic efficiency ratio of 4.1. Engineers integrated large lateral ducts, a sculpted flat floor, and a massive rear diffuser that replaces the traditional wing. The Active Wake Control system generates air at the vehicle's rear through micro-perforations around the lights, pushing turbulence away.
Will It Ever Be Commercialized?
No, Xiaomi has clearly confirmed: the Vision GT will never see a production version. This concept exists solely for the virtual world of Gran Turismo 7 and as a design exercise for the MWC show. The physical model presented in Barcelona is only a static model, with no mechanics.
This approach frees designers from certification constraints, industrial costs, and safety regulations. Result: a hypercar with lines impossible to reproduce in series, too extreme for road regulations.
Announced Power of 1,900 Horsepower
Although virtual, the Vision GT is based on Xiaomi's 900 volt Silicon Carbide platform. The brand claims 1,900 horsepower with all-wheel drive, figures that far exceed current hypercars. For comparison, the production SU7 Ultra already delivers 1,548 horsepower.
The cabin adopts a "Sofa Racer" philosophy with a butterfly steering wheel inspired by motorsport, a panoramic screen integrated into the windshield base, and five-point harnesses. Onboard artificial intelligence adapts the vehicle to the driver's mood through multiple sensors.
First Chinese Automaker in Gran Turismo
This collaboration marks a historic turning point. Xiaomi becomes the first Chinese automaker and first technology company invited to the Vision Gran Turismo program, a prestigious lineup that has included Lamborghini, BMW, and Mercedes-AMG.
