Volvo has just opened orders for the EX60 Cross Country First Edition, the rugged variant of its electric SUV. Priced from €72,500, this adventure-ready version is €6,000 more expensive than the standard EX60 and packs a 510 HP powertrain with 640 km of range.

A Launch Edition with a Hefty Price Tag

After unveiling the EX60 in January 2026, Volvo is now launching its Cross Country variant as a special edition. Two trims are offered: the Plus First Edition at €72,500 and the Ultra First Edition at €79,400. The price difference is justified by additional equipment on the Ultra version, including a panoramic roof, a Bowers & Wilkins audio system, and a 360° camera with 3D view.

This launch strategy with a limited edition allows Volvo to gauge market appetite for this premium positioning. The €6,000 gap with the classic EX60 (which starts at €66,500) clearly places this Cross Country at the high end of the family electric SUV segment.

💡 Did you know?
Volvo's Cross Country models have existed since 1997, when the Swedish manufacturer launched the first rugged version of its V70. This designation has now become a signature for the brand.

High-Level Electric Performance

The EX60 Cross Country First Edition is based on Volvo's new SPA3 platform, specifically designed for electric vehicles. It inaugurates an 800-volt architecture, now essential on premium models to optimize fast charging.

On the powertrain side, this launch edition only features the P10 AWD version which develops 510 horsepower. The 95 kWh battery promises up to 640 km of range according to the WLTP cycle. Even more impressive, charging from 10 to 80% takes less than 20 minutes on a 400 kW charger.

📋 Fiche technique

Modernized Cross Country DNA

The Cross Country version distinguishes itself from the classic EX60 with its ground clearance raised by 20 mm compared to the standard version. The active air suspension even allows this height to be adjusted according to conditions, with an additional amplitude of 20 mm up or down.

Aesthetically, the model follows the visual codes of the Cross Country family: brushed stainless steel protection plates, flared wheel arches, matte black trim, and specific wheels. An exclusive Boreal Green paint finish completes this look of a modern-day adventurer.

Inside, the ambiance aims to be both premium and functional with exclusive ventilated midnight blue mesh upholstery, a patinated grey ash wood decor, and reinforced anthracite textile floor mats to withstand harsh conditions.

💡 Technical Point
The EX60 Cross Country's active air suspension automatically adapts the ride height based on speed and road conditions, optimizing both aerodynamic efficiency and off-road capabilities.

When Will It Be Available?

The first deliveries of the EX60 Cross Country First Edition are scheduled for the second half of 2027. This relatively long lead time is explained by Volvo prioritizing the ramp-up of the standard EX60 at its Torslanda production site in Sweden first.

Fierce German Competition

The EX60 Cross Country will face formidable competition. The BMW iX3 starts from €69,900, while the Audi Q6 e-tron is listed at €74,500 in its base version. On the Mercedes side, the newly launched electric GLC also targets this premium segment.
