Leapmotor B10: 900km Range SUV at €29,900

Leapmotor opens orders for its B10 New e-Hybrid SUV from €29,900. This range-extended electric vehicle promises 900 kilometres of total range and will be assembled in Europe from the second half of 2026.
"With 50 liters of petrol, combined range hits 900 km. That's the number that kills range anxiety arguments." — According to Motorsactu
A range extender to put minds at ease
The B10 New e-Hybrid isn't a conventional plug-in hybrid. It's a REEV (Range Extended Electric Vehicle), where the engine never drives the wheels. The 1.5-liter petrol generator delivering 50 kW only serves to recharge the 18.8 kWh battery when it runs low.
In pure electric mode, the SUV covers 86 kilometres on the WLTP cycle. Once the battery's depleted, the generator kicks in to push total range to 900 kilometres. That's Paris to Marseille without breaking a sweat.
Four modes to match your driving
Leapmotor offers four energy management strategies. EV+ mode fires up the generator only below 15% battery to finish on pure electric. EV mode favours daily electric driving with the generator kicking in under 25%. Fuel mode keeps charge topped up via the generator on long trips. Power+ keeps the generator running continuously for constant performance.
This flexibility targets families wanting to taste electric driving daily while keeping freedom for long journeys.
A price that hurts the competition
At €29,900, the B10 New e-Hybrid directly challenges family plug-in hybrid SUVs on the market. Leapmotor even covers the weight-related tax via a €1,360 rebate. A lease offer starts at €349/month.
For comparison, the BYD Sealion 5 DM-i also lines up at €29,900 thanks to a temporary rebate. But Renault Scénic E-Tech or Peugeot e-3008](/article/peugeot-3008-5008-recall-33-vehicles-affected) start much higher.
Generous dimensions despite the price
At 4.53 metres long with a 2.73-metre wheelbase, the B10 maximises interior space. The maker claims "best headroom in its class." The 14.6-inch central screen runs LEAP OS 4.0 Plus powered by a Qualcomm 8155 processor.
Equipment includes 17 driver assistance functions (ADAS) and, depending on trim, heated and ventilated front seats. Two versions are offered: Life at entry level and Design above.

European production confirmed
Stellantis has confirmed the B10 will be assembled at Figueruelas, near Zaragoza in Spain, from the second half of 2026. This plant already produces Opel Corsa, Peugeot 208 and Lancia Ypsilon.
Antonio Filosa, CEO of Stellantis, stated: "We continue our commercial expansion in Europe, not only with additional products, but also with local production at our Spanish plant."
What could sink the B10?
Experience with the Leapmotor C10 REEV raises questions. This bigger brother suffered degraded highway performance at 130 km/h with empty batteries on climbs. Its 68 hp generator wasn't enough to hold speed.
The B10 New e-Hybrid shares the same technical architecture with a similar-output generator. Worth checking if it avoids this pitfall on demanding long motorway stretches.

Against segment benchmarks
At €29,900, Leapmotor takes on established players on their own turf. The Tesla Model Y starts at €42,000, the Renault Scénic E-Tech at around €35,000.
The Chinese maker's strategy bets on a rock-bottom price to attract families.
