Lancia Gamma, Peugeot e-3008, Jeep Compass: 2024 Hybrid SUVs

Lancia breathes life back into the Gamma, Peugeot cranks the e-3008 up to 325 horsepower, and Jeep repositions its Compass on the STLA Medium platform. Three SUVs that perfectly illustrate Stellantis' 2026 playbook: go electric in a big way while keeping hybrids in the game.
"The Gamma represents a decisive step in our journey toward the future" — Luca Napolitano, Lancia CEO
Lancia Gamma Rises Again as a Coupe SUV
After 40 years absent, the Lancia Gamma makes its triumphant return as a sleek coupe SUV. The first spy shots reveal a vehicle roughly 4.70 meters long, borrowing Ypsilon's signature style with its Y-shaped headlights and refined grille.
Built on the STLA Medium platform—the same bones as the Peugeot 3008 and the upcoming DS No 7—the Gamma will offer a mixed powertrain lineup. Pure electric, hybrid, and even a sporty HF variant are on the menu. This multi-energy approach marks a sharp turn from the all-electric-only strategy initially planned.
Production kicks off in 2026 at the Melfi plant in Italy. Stellantis is betting big on this model to rescue Lancia, which moved just 11,747 vehicles across Europe last year—a staggering 64% plunge from 2024.
Peugeot e-3008 Dual Motor Pumps Out 325 Horsepower
Peugeot isn't messing around with the e-3008. The Dual Motor version delivers 325 horsepower courtesy of two electric motors: 210 hp up front and 112 hp out back. That kind of muscle transforms the SUV into a genuine performance animal ready to tackle anything.
Tested in the Black Forest at 1,500 meters elevation, the e-3008 Dual Motor shows its true colors. With all-wheel drive and 2,262 kg on the scale, this beast is more versatile performer than pure sportster. The sticker shock is real though—expect significantly more than the single-motor version already priced at 45,000 €.
This dual-motor setup pits Peugeot squarely against the Cupra Tavascan and the electric Ford Capri in the performance electric SUV segment. It's a risky move, but one that could pay off if pricing stays reasonable.
What's the Damage on These New Hybrid and Electric SUVs?
Lancia Gamma pricing hasn't been revealed yet, but expect premium positioning. Lancia is clearly aiming for the upper tier with this SUV designed to rival the Cupra Tavascan and other DS No 8 models.
The Peugeot ee-3008](/article/peugeot-9x8-2026-nouvelle-livree-gti-aux-couleurs-de-la-205) Dual Motor should top 50,000 € given its power and AWD hardware. That puts it right in the ring with well-established German competitors.
Jeep Compass Goes Electric
The next-generation Jeep Compass ditches its American roots to embrace the STLA Medium platform. This major evolution lets it offer electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains—a first for this nameplate.

Longer and wider than its predecessor, this new Compass keeps the Jeep DNA alive with pronounced wheel arches and that iconic seven-slot grille. Stellantis is counting on this model to capture Europe's booming electrified SUV market.
The entry-level version arrives with a mild-hybrid engine more affordable than the First Edition launch model. Classic strategy to broaden the appeal once the initial rush settles.
