Since March 3, 2026, the Alpine A290 has benefited from an enhanced French EV bonus thanks to its battery manufactured in France, slashing its price to €31,650 after the maximum deduction, or €240/month on a lease. Meanwhile, the brand opens 41 new sales points in France and launches its rally version in the French Championship — two clear signals of a brand hitting the accelerator.

What the Enhanced Bonus Really Changes

Before March 3, 2026, the A290 already received the standard French EV bonus — between €3,620 and €5,740 depending on income — thanks to its assembly in Dieppe. What was missing was the battery top-up, reserved for models whose cells and pack assembly are produced in Europe.

That's now settled. The A290's battery pack has been coming out of the Renault plant in Douai since summer 2025, which qualifies it for an additional top-up of €1,140 to €2,000 depending on the household. Result: the total bonus climbs to €4,830 for standard households and up to €7,650 for lower-income households.

💡 Key Figure
Before the top-up, the maximum bonus on the A290 was capped at €5,740. It now reaches €7,650 for the most modest households, nearly €2,000 more overnight.

On a base price of €39,300, this positions the sporty city car at €31,650 for those who secure the maximum aid, or €34,470 with the minimum bonus. On a 37-month, 30,000 km lease, the entry rental drops to €240/month. That's still more than a Renault 5, but the comparison with a Mini Cooper SE Electric or an Abarth 500e suddenly becomes less unfavorable.

What's the Real-World Range?

On paper, the 52 kWh battery gives a 364 to 380 km WLTP range depending on the version. On the road, with the 177 or 218 hp that are the whole point of the thing and a bit of spirited driving, you'd better plan on 250 to 280 km. The maximum charging rate is 100 kW, which means about 30 minutes to go from 15 to 80%. No miracle here, it's the reality of small batteries charged quickly: efficient for short breaks, but something to plan for on long trips.

85 Sales Points in France: Alpine Expands Its Network

On March 12, 2026, Alpine announced the opening of 41 new points of contact across France during the Blue Days (March 12-16), bringing the national network to 85 sales points. From Brest to Perpignan, the brand wants customers to be able to touch the A290 and A390 without crossing the country.

The logic is straightforward: Alpine remains a niche market, and that niche was until now hampered by a network that was too sparse. Doubling the points of contact mechanically increases the chances of conversion for models that sell on emotion as much as on the spec sheet.

💡 Did You Know?
France is Alpine's primary market. With 85 sales points now, the brand almost doubles its physical presence in a single quarter.

The A290 Rally Trophy Joins the French Championship

This is where it gets really interesting. From March 26 to 28, 2026, the Rallye du Touquet – Pas-de-Calais hosted for the first time a round of the French Rally Championship with an entirely electric field. Ten crews at the wheel of the Alpine A290 Rallye, on the same special stages as the Rally4 and Rally5 combustion competitors.

The trophy was launched in November 2025 at the Rallye de l'Indre. At the Touquet, six special stages for 115.14 km of timed sections on a total route of 486 km. The crews benefited
