Renault Group is hitting hard with its futuREady strategic plan: 36 new models by 2030, including 12 specifically for Europe. Alpine confirms its shift to electric with a new A110 on a dedicated platform, while Dacia launches the Striker. Renault is definitively abandoning pure combustion engines in Europe by 2030.

"With the new A110, we want to create the first true electric sports car" — Philippe Krief, Alpine CEO

An ambitious strategy to face Chinese manufacturers

Renault Group has unveiled its futuREady strategic plan that sets the roadmap for growth through 2030. The stated objective: "compete with Chinese manufacturers in terms of innovation, cost, and development speed," according to François Provost, the group's CEO. An ambition that translates into 36 new models globally, including 12 specifically designed for Europe.

The diamond-badged brand confirms the definitive end of purely petrol or diesel engines in Europe by 2030. This decision marks a turning point, even though hybridization will remain. "By 2030, the Renault brand aims for 100% electrified sales in Europe and 50% outside Europe," the group clarifies in its statement.

💡 Key figure
Renault targets 2 million units sold globally by 2030, with half in Europe thanks to this product offensive.

Alpine bets everything on electric with the new A110

Philippe Krief, Alpine's boss, leaves no doubt: the next generation A110 will be electric. The iconic model will abandon its turbocharged four-cylinder to adopt the new APP (Alpine Performance Platform). This aluminum architecture, developed specifically for sports cars, integrates 800V technology to optimize rapid charging.

The new platform preserves the A110's DNA through a 40:60 front/rear weight distribution. Two separate battery packs allow the car to maintain its current silhouette while ensuring a low center of gravity. The car will retain its fully aluminum suspension and integrate the active torque vectoring system via the Alpine Dynamic Model ECU.

Multiple A110 variants planned

Alpine doesn't hide its ambitions for its electric roadster. The brand confirms that the A110 will be offered in multiple versions: coupe, spider, and 2+2. The goal: develop a complete range capable of rivaling the Porsche 911 in the electric sports car segment.

The drivetrain will rely on two electric motors at the rear, with the possibility of adopting in-wheel motors like those on the Renault 5 Turbo 3E. This technical solution would optimize torque distribution and preserve the lightweight driving sensations that define the current model's reputation.

💡 Technical point
The APP platform is modular and can accommodate in-wheel motors like those on the R5 Turbo 3E, offering up to 600 horsepower.

Dacia unveils the Striker, new crossover estate

Dacia is expanding its range with the Striker, a raised estate that will rival the Skoda Octavia Estate. Dubbed C-Neo during development, this 4.62-meter model sits at the top of the Dacia range alongside the Bigster. The announced starting price of under €22,000 makes it an attractive alternative to traditional estates.

The Striker will share its powertrains with the Bigster: full hybrid with 152 hp and a rear electric motor, conventional hybrid and mild-hybrid delivering between 138 and 153 horsepower. A LPG version will also be available on certain markets, but probably not in the UK.

Revolutionary technologies in development

Renault is developing a new RGEV Medium 2.0 platform specifically designed for electric vehicles with range-extending capability. This 800V architecture could enable up to 1,400 km of range thanks to a small thermal engine that recharges the batteries while driving.

This technology directly counters Chinese competition, particularly Leapmotor, which already exploits this concept with Stellantis. The first models equipped with this platform could arrive as early as 2027 in the C and D segments.
