The DS N°7 replaces the DS 7 in 2026 with 100% electric powertrains offering up to 740 km of range and a hybrid version. Orders open in May for deliveries in October, with prices starting at €64,200 for the Etoile Business trim.

"740 km WLTP range, a record in the premium compact SUV category" — DS Automobiles

Eight years after its launch, the DS 7 Crossback is bowing out. Its successor, the DS N°7, arrives with a clear ambition: to reconquer the premium SUV segment from its German benchmarks. DS Automobiles is betting on a strong electrification strategy and a completely redesigned look for this model, which must revive sales for the French brand.

A Larger Footprint for More Space

The DS N°7 grows compared to its predecessor. At 4.66 m long, it gains 7 cm in length and, crucially, 6 cm in wheelbase (2.79 m), directly benefiting rear-seat space. The width reaches 1.90 m while the height remains a measured 1.63 m, preserving a balanced silhouette.

This dimensional evolution is accompanied by extensive aerodynamic work. With a Cx of 0.26, the N°7 significantly improves efficiency over the outgoing model. Glass surfaces increase by 30% at the rear and 40% for the optional panoramic roof, contributing to the sense of space and brightness.

💡 Did you know?
The DS N°7 abandons the DS 7's EMP2 platform to adopt Stellantis's STLA Medium architecture, shared with the Peugeot EE-3008](/article/peugeot-9x8-2026-nouvelle-livree-gti-aux-couleurs-de-la-205) and E-5008.

A Design Inspired by the DS N°8

The stylistic signature of the N°7 aligns with that inaugurated by the DS N°8. Gone are the curves of the DS 7, replaced by sharp edges and smooth volumes. The front end features the new DS Light Blade and a backlit grille that immediately signals its belonging to the DS family.

At the rear, the vertical taillights pick up the visual codes of the N°8 sedan, creating aesthetic coherence across the range. Six body colors are offered, including the new Silk Green, as well as personalization options with a contrasting black roof or an extended two-tone finish on the hood.

Three Electric Powertrains on Offer

The DS N°7 E-Tense electric range comes in three power levels. The entry-level FWD version develops 230 horsepower (up to 260 hp in temporary boost mode) with a 73.7 kWh battery for 543 km WLTP range.

The FWD Long Range version increases to 245 horsepower (280 hp in boost) and gets the large 97.2 kWh battery manufactured at the ACC Gigafactory in Billy-Berclau. The range then climbs to 740 km, a remarkable figure in the compact SUV category.

At the top, the AWD Long Range variant with all-wheel drive develops 350 horsepower (375 hp in boost) for 679 km of range. It completes the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 5.4 seconds, positioning the N°7 in the performance arena.

Optimized Fast Charging

All electric versions accept charging power up to 160 kW, maintained stably between 20% and 55% state of charge. Going from 20 to 80% takes 27 minutes thanks to the battery's thermal preconditioning.

The Plug & Charge function automatically initiates charging at compatible stations, without needing a card or app. DS also announces the possibility of recovering more than 190 km of range in 10 minutes on the most powerful chargers.

💡 Key Figure
4,749 units of the DS 7 were registered in France in 2025, a declining figure that motivated the renewal.

A Hybrid Alternative for the Transition

For those not yet ready to switch to all-electric, DS offers a self-charging hybrid version. This powertrain combines a 1.2 PureTech petrol engine with an electric system for a combined output of 145 horsepower.

CO2 emissions are contained at 121 g/km, allowing it to stay within European regulations. This hybrid version constitutes a transitional alternative.
