Mercedes-AMG unveils the interior of its upcoming 4-door electric GT and puts all the chips on driver experience. Three screens, three dedicated performance adjustment dials, and the elimination of physical climate control buttons mark this new generation arriving in 2026.

"The interior prioritizes touchscreen! But we still have three rotary buttons on the center console that'll let you dial in the car's character parameters" — Mercedes-AMG

Cockpit-Style Driver's Environment

Mercedes-AMG just pulled back the curtain on the interior of its next 4-door GT, and here's the thing—electrification changes everything. Out goes the old V8 playbook: welcome to a futuristic cabin dominated by screens.

The centerpiece of the dashboard is a 14-inch touchscreen, tilted toward the driver to nail that cockpit vibe. It teams up with a 10.2-inch instrument cluster and a third 14-inch screen on the passenger side—optional on some trims, standard on others.

This triple-screen setup pulls straight from the new CLA and refreshed S-Class makeover, with thick bezels rather than the continuous display you get in the electric GLC.

The Infamous AMG "Magic" Buttons

Now here's where it gets interesting. Three rotary dials sit on the center console left of the cupholders, and each one has a specific job.

💡 Did You Know?
These three dials sport a "turbine" design matching the air vents and glow as part of the customizable ambient lighting.

The first, "Response Control," tweaks how the electric motors respond to throttle input. The second, "Agility Control," changes cornering behavior. The third, "Traction Control," adjusts traction across nine different levels.

These three controls make up the AMG Race Engineer, the new system that lets drivers fine-tune their car's character without digging through touchscreen menus.

Goodbye Physical Climate Controls

First casualty of this "screens-first" philosophy: physical climate control buttons are gone. They've migrated into the MBUX interface, joining the growing list of touchscreen functions.

Mercedes spins this as a "balanced operating concept" mixing tactile, haptic, screen, and voice commands. Translation: fewer physical buttons, more menu diving.

💡 Tech Fact
The center console has two wireless smartphone charging zones separated by a divider to keep your phone from sliding during spirited driving.

Seats Built for Performance

The front seats take a decidedly sporty approach. Optional Performance AMG seats integrate the headrest for better lateral support—so you don't end up plastered to the door at the first aggressive corner.

Out back, Mercedes goes with a two-place bench as standard, with floor indentations to give knees breathing room. A three-seat bench stays available as an option for bigger families.

Glass Roof and Illuminated Air Vents

The overall vibe goes premium with a large electrochromic glass roof that floods the cabin with natural light. Integrated lighting accents in the glass amp up the tech-forward feel.

💡 Key Number
The turbine-shaped side vents integrate directly into the glass dashboard surface and can glow in different colors.

Premium materials are all over the place—carbon-effect center console housing the armrest, a closed storage compartment, and those illuminated cupholders.

When Will It Land?

The new Mercedes-AMG 4-door electric GT should hit showrooms around 2026. It'll launch the AMG.EA platform, custom-developed by the Affalterbach crew for high-performance electric vehicles.

This **800-volt architecture will be the backbone of AMG's electric future—no more gas-guzzling monsters, just pure electric aggression.
