Mercedes-AMG unveils the interior of its upcoming all-electric GT 4-Door, the first series-production EV from the Affalterbach performance division. This sedan, based on the AMG.EA platform, will usher in a new generation of electric models with over 1,000 horsepower and three specific tuning knobs to customize performance.

"We focused every interior detail on performance and implemented it with the greatest precision. Even at a standstill, the interior already shows what the future GT 4-Door is capable of." — Michael Schiebe, Head of Mercedes-AMG

A Cockpit Sculpted for Performance

The interior of this Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé 4-Door Electric reveals a radically different approach compared to recent Mercedes models. The center console, angled towards the driver, abandons the more neutral approach of the EQS or EQE in favor of a sports car ergonomic.

The digital layout consists of three screens: a 10.2-inch instrument cluster facing the driver, a 14-inch central multimedia screen oriented to the left, and a third 14-inch screen dedicated to the passenger. This configuration is reminiscent of the latest electric GLC and CLA, but with a more radical, AMG-specific treatment.

💡 Did You Know?
The round, backlit air vents and metal inserts create a specific ambiance that deliberately differs from more "sedate" Mercedes models.

Three Magical Knobs at the Heart of the System

The real novelty lies in the three rotary controls located on the lower center console. These physical knobs allow direct adjustment of driving parameters without navigating through touchscreen menus.

The first, Response Control, modulates the responsiveness of the electric motors under acceleration. The second, Agility Control, acts on the dynamic chassis settings, including torque vectoring and agility around the vertical axis. The third, Traction Control, offers nine different intervention levels for managing grip.

A Dedicated High-Performance Architecture

This AMG GT Electric is based on the brand-new AMG.EA platform (AMG Electric Architecture), developed specifically for high-performance electric models. This technical base will accommodate the axial-flux motors developed with the British company YASA, acquired by Mercedes in 2021.

The AMG GT XX concept recently presented gave a glimpse of the expected performance: over 1,000 kW (or 1,360 horsepower) distributed across three motors, for a top speed exceeding 360 km/h.

💡 Technical Point
Axial-flux motors offer a power density up to three times greater than conventional electric motors, hence their nickname as the "V8 of electric powertrains."

Sport Seats and Premium Finishes

The cabin features specifically developed sport seats with reinforced lateral support. As an option, the AMG Performance seats incorporate headrests and a lightweight architecture visible through rear openings.

In the rear, the standard configuration includes two individual seats offering generous legroom. A three-seat bench remains available as an option, with fold-down backs to modulate cargo space.

The SKY CONTROL panoramic roof completes the equipment, while the MANUFAKTUR program will allow for customization of the interior ambiance according to the owner's taste.

💡 Key Figure
The steering wheel paddles no longer serve to change gears, but to adjust the intensity of energy recuperation during braking.

When Will It Arrive at Dealers?

The official presentation of this Mercedes-AMG GT Electric is expected in the first months of 2027. The first deliveries are anticipated by the end of 2027, positioning this model as a direct rival to the Porsche Taycan and future electric versions of Audi RS models.

What Price Should We Expect?

Mercedes has not yet communicated official pricing. However, given the premium positioning and onboard technologies, we should expect a starting price around 150,000 euros for entry-level versions. The most powerful variants could easily exceed 200,000 euros.
