Ferrari 849 Testarossa 2027: Hybrid Supercar Photos

Ferrari resurrects the legendary Testarossa for 2027 with the 849 Testarossa, a plug-in hybrid supercar that marries a V8 with three electric motors. The Assetto Fiorano pack shaves 30 kg through carbon wheels and racing bucket seats, while 80% of power channels to the rear to preserve the brand's drift DNA.
"With roughly 80% of total power directed to the rear wheels, the Testarossa can be as spectacular and smoky as you dare" — Car and Driver
The 2027 Ferrari 849 Testarossa reconnects with the mythical heritage of the 1980s, but in a resolutely modern iteration. This new plug-in hybrid supercar integrates three electric motors: one on each front wheel and a third sandwiched between the thermal engine and transmission. This architecture allows intelligent power distribution while preserving the hardened character that made the original model legendary.
The Assetto Fiorano pack gets its revolution
The Assetto Fiorano pack returns with substantial upgrades. This lightened version sheds roughly 30 kg primarily thanks to carbon-fiber wheels and lighter racing bucket seats. But that's not all: the pack adds extra aerodynamic elements front and rear, including those spectacular dual-stage rear wings that deliver a proper race car look.
The aesthetic details subtly nod to the past. The black trim at the front evokes the pop-up headlights of yesteryear—a wink to purists who'll recognize the reference. Ferrari has sweated every detail to create this bridge between eras.
Turbocharged mechanics and cutting-edge technology
On the technical front, every component has been optimized. The carbon-ceramic brake discs are slightly larger, the tires a touch wider. The controls for the electronic rear differential and front-axle torque-distribution system have been fine-tuned to exploit available grip to the max.
The eight-speed dual-clutch transmission delivers instantaneous gear shifts in the most aggressive settings, activated via fixed carbon-fiber paddles. Ferrari ditched touch-sensitive controls to return to the old-school way: the red start button makes its comeback, joined by actual physical buttons on the steering wheel spokes.
What's the electric-only range?
As on the SF90, the Testarossa offers a symbolic electric-only range of around 13 km by EPA figures. Enough to creep silently through city centers, but the real goal here is hybrid performance rather than pure environmental virtue.

Customizable Pirelli tires
The Pirelli P Zero R tires represent one of four available tire options. Fun detail: the sidewall text comes in yellow, red, or silver, letting owners personalize their ride to taste.
This new Testarossa promises to perpetuate the spirit of the 1980s legend while embracing current technology. With 80% of power routing to the rear, it retains that ability to break sideways that delighted drivers back then. A clever blend of nostalgia and modernity designed to seduce collectors and thrill-seekers alike.
