The Renault 4 Roland-Garros E-Tech will have its world premiere at the Parisian tournament starting May 18, 2026, as a show-car, before going on sale at dealerships in autumn 2026. Dressed in Glacier White with Terracotta accents recalling the clay courts, it will be the most expensive trim in the R4 lineup — with an expected price tag around 40,000 euros.

"7,658 registrations in 2025, 3,119 since January 1st — the Renault 4 has not met the same success as the Renault 5." — Turbo.fr, April 2026

This is the context in which this special series arrives. Renault needs the R4 to exist as more than just an option for those who found the R5 too small. A dedicated marketing campaign is on the horizon. And Roland-Garros, Porte d'Auteuil, is a showcase that doesn't come cheap in terms of visibility.

Glacier White, Terracotta Touches: The Court's Dress Code

The stylistic recipe is that of the R5 Roland-Garros, applied to the taller body of the R4. Base color Glacier White, black pillars and roof arches, Terracotta Brown accents on the front and rear bumpers and wheel centers — a color directly borrowed from the clay of the Parisian courts. The 18-inch "Parisienne" diamond-cut alloy wheels receive a smoked varnish and a specific finish.

The show-car is presented in the "Plein Sud" configuration, with an electric black fabric sunroof whose opening measures 92 cm long by 80 cm wide — generous enough for rear passengers to also enjoy the sky. The production version will be available in four colors: Terracotta Brown, Glacier White, Urban Grey, and Starry Black, all paired with a black roof.

A detail that no one really mentions: the charging flap features the Saint Andrew's cross pattern, a direct reference to the architecture of the stadium inaugurated in 1928. This kind of attention to narrative detail is what distinguishes a true special series from a badge screwed onto a tailgate.

💡 Did you know?
The Saint Andrew's cross pattern engraved on the R4 Roland-Garros charging flap is a direct tribute to the architecture of the Roland-Garros stadium, inaugurated in 1928. It is also found on the brushed aluminum door sills.

An Interior That Quotes the Locker Rooms, Not the Press Releases

Inside, Renault has worked on a light grey 100% recycled upholstery with a graphic weave borrowed from technical sportswear textiles. The front seatbacks feature perforated mesh zones forming an "H", with side bolsters and a grained coated textile armrest in blue. The Roland-Garros logo is thermo-embossed on the seatbacks.

The most successful detail — and the most honestly assumed — remains the gear selector, whose knob is inspired by the grip of a tennis racket handle. The floor mats and induction charger pick up the terracotta hue. The brushed aluminum door sills bear the inscription "Roland-Garros Paris". The seat fabric is repeated on the door panels and dashboard, giving the whole a real coherence rather than a collage of badges.

At What Price to Pass the First Round?

This is the question posed by Caradisiac with a rather telling headline. The R4 Roland-Garros will be the most expensive trim in the lineup, according to various sources. Caradisiac mentions a price close to 40,000 euros, which would place this model significantly above the base R4. For comparison, the Renault 5 Roland-Garros paved the way in this segment — the R4 applies the same logic, with a larger footprint and a promise of moving upmarket.

Facing it, rivals like the Peugeot E-2008, the electric Jeep Avenger, or the Fiat 600e play in often more accessible price waters. Renault is betting on identity and storytelling to justify the gap. Whether it works or not will depend on a clientele
