Audi A6 e-tron & Q6 e-tron 2027: New Tech, 800km Range

Audi is enriching its electric lineup with significant updates to the A6 e-tron and Q6 e-tron for the 2027 model year. On the agenda: a redesigned infotainment system, the return of physical steering wheel dials, and new driving modes. The first models will arrive at dealerships starting in the second quarter of 2026.
"Physical dials finally replace the despised touchscreen controls on the steering wheel" — According to Car and Driver
Physical Controls Make a Comeback with Users
The main highlight concerns the steering wheel on 2027 models. Audi is partially abandoning its controversial touchscreen controls to reintroduce physical scroll wheels. The right dial adjusts volume, while the left one controls digital dashboard menus and settings. This change was inspired by the Audi Concept C according to the automaker, but more importantly, it's what users have been demanding after growing tired of touchscreen surfaces that are difficult to use while driving.
The MMI infotainment system is also receiving a redesigned interface. Graphics are sharper, contrast is improved between icons and backgrounds, and menus are simplified with fewer lists to scroll through. Some displays now incorporate a 3D model of the owner's vehicle, including the correct paint color.
US Pricing Revealed
Pricing for the American market has been confirmed. The A6 e-tron starts at $67,995 for the single-motor rear-wheel-drive version, $69,995 for the Quattro dual-motor model, and $80,895 for the S6 e-tron with 543 horsepower.
For the Q6 e-tron, pricing ranges from $65,795 for the base version to $76,895 for the SQ6 Sportback variant. These 2027 models skip 2026 entirely and arrive directly in the second quarter of 2026.
New Features and Driving Modes
Range hasn't officially increased, but Audi is improving regenerative braking. Vehicles can now come to a complete stop without engaging conventional brakes, recovering more kinetic energy. The S6 e-tron gains a new Dynamic Plus mode that allows more controlled rear oversteer.
The parking assistant becomes smarter, capable of automatically executing maneuvers over a distance of 200 meters and memorizing 5 different routes. This feature is limited to private properties for legal reasons.
Passenger Display Gets Better
The optional 10.9-inch passenger screen now supports Bluetooth headphones, allowing passengers to watch movies or listen to their own music without disturbing the driver. The driver can use the main audio system in parallel, unless the passenger is using an active application.
Audi is also introducing new "experience worlds" called Relaxation, Activation, and Harmonization. These 10 to 20-minute programs combine ambient lighting, sounds, seat massage, and climate control to create different atmospheres. A Power Nap mode specifically designed for recharge breaks helps restore energy.
