2026 Cupra Born Facelift: 326 HP, 600 km Range, Real Buttons

The facelifted Cupra Born arrives in 2026 with new triangular headlights, a sporty 326 HP VZ version, and up to 600 km of range. The Spanish brand also fixes the ergonomics with real physical buttons and separate controls for the power windows.
"Here is the new facelifted Born and you will be able to show it from April 2, 2026" — Cupra PR, December 2025
A Sharper Design, Not a Revolution
The strategy is clear: Cupra isn't messing with a winning formula. With 43,700 units sold in 2025, the Born has found its audience. The facelift is about evolution, not revolution.
The front end adopts the "shark nose," a design already seen on the Leon, Formentor, and Terramar. The new Matrix LED headlights integrate the triangular signature that has become emblematic of the brand. Three luminous triangles mark the Cupra identity, both front and rear.
The rear bumper is redesigned with a more prominent and sculpted diffuser. The Cupra logo now lights up, integrated into the light bar connecting the taillights. Five new wheel designs complete the evolution, with 19-inch wheels that can accommodate wider 235 mm tires compared to the previous 225 mm.
Ergonomics Finally Fixed
The major novelty hides inside the cabin. Cupra ditches the much-criticized touch-sensitive steering wheel controls in favor of real physical buttons. Same story for the power windows: goodbye to the annoying toggle system, hello to four separate switches.

The central screen grows to 12.9 inches while the instrument cluster increases to 10.25 inches. The infotainment system adopts Android Automotive, promising more fluidity and access to an app store. Rear passengers finally get dedicated air vents.
What Power for the New Born?
Cupra is simplifying its powertrain lineup. The entry-level model relies on a motor with 190 HP paired with a 58 kWh battery, claiming 481 km of WLTP range. The Endurance version combines 231 HP and 79 kWh for 623 km of range.
At the top, the VZ variant develops 326 HP with the same 79 kWh battery. Paradox: it claims 629 km of range, which is more than the less powerful Endurance. One-pedal driving makes its appearance across the entire range.

At What Price and When?
The prices for the facelifted Born start at €40,050 for the 190 HP Plus version. The Endurance is listed at €46,070 and the VZ at €49,650. These prices represent an increase compared to the previous generation, which started at €36,920.
Production will begin in the second quarter of 2026 at the factory in Zwickau, Germany. Market launch is scheduled for summer 2026. Pre-orders are already open in France.
Facing the Competition
In the premium electric compact segment, the Born faces the Renault Mégane E-Tech, the entry-level Audi Q4 e-tron, and soon the upcoming BMW iX1. With its MG4 sold for €15,000 less in 2022, MG had complicated Cupra's task.

"The brand has made its prices more competitive since then," sources remind us. The 79 kWh batteries replace the previous 77 kWh units to improve range. The new color palette is enriched with Timanfaya Grey.
The facelifted Born is part of Cupra's strategy, which claims more than one million vehicles sold in seven years. While waiting for the Raval city car expected at the end of 2026, this compact model must consolidate the brand's position in the electric market.
