The new Cayenne Electric arrives with up to 1,156 HP and a range of 644 km according to the WLTP cycle. Porsche launches its most powerful electric SUV ever produced, available in three variants with prices starting at €107,600 for the base model, €129,200 for the S, and €167,200 for the Turbo.

"1,156 HP and 1,500 Nm with launch control. That means: 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. In an SUV that weighs over 2.5 tonnes." — Test Autoblog.nl

A Technological Breakthrough on the PPE Platform

The Cayenne Electric marks a break in the model's history. Unlike its combustion predecessors, it sits on the PPE platform (Premium Platform Electric) shared with the Audi Q6 e-tron and the Macan Electric. This 800-volt architecture allows ultra-fast charging up to 400 kW with direct current.

The battery of 113 kWh (with 108 kWh usable) charges from 10 to 80% in just 16 minutes on a compatible charger. "In practice, that means in about 10 minutes, you recover 300 km of range," reports Car and Driver. The system also offers wireless inductive charging up to 11 kW.

Regeneration can provide up to 600 kW of power, which means you'll use energy recovery much more often than the conventional brakes.

Three Power Levels for Every Need

The range is built around three versions with distinct characters. The base Cayenne Electric develops 408 HP in normal use, pushing to 435 HP and 615 Nm in overboost mode. It sprints from 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.

The Cayenne S Electric, recently added to the range, climbs to 544 HP in continuous operation and 657 HP with Launch Control, paired with 796 Nm of torque. The 0-100 km/h time drops to 3.8 seconds.

At the top, the Cayenne Turbo Electric becomes "the most powerful Porsche ever produced" according to testers from Automobile Propre. Its 850 kW (or 1,156 HP) and 1,500 Nm in Launch Control mode propel the SUV's 2.5 tonnes from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. Numbers worthy of a hypercar in a family vehicle.

An Evolutionary Yet Recognizable Design

Visually, this fourth-generation Cayenne (internal code E4) retains the model's DNA while marking its electric specificity. At 4.99 m long, 1.98 m wide, and 1.67 m high, it gains 5.5 cm in length compared to its predecessor.

The front end is distinguished by a redesigned grille for aerodynamics, refined LED headlights, and active aerodynamics. At the rear, a light bar spans the entire width and wheels can go up to 22 inches.

The Cabin Gets a Technological Makeover

The interior is a clear break from previous generations. Gone are the two curved central handles that appeared back in 2002, replaced by a curved OLED screen that cascades down to an armrest with physical controls for climate and volume.

💡 Did You Know?
The new central screen can simultaneously display a map in the upper part and menu options at the bottom, optimizing the use of display space.

The fully digital instrumentation follows Porsche's design codes while integrating electric-specific features. The elevated driving position and wide central console preserve the Cayenne spirit, but in a more futuristic setting.

Performance That Defies the Laws of Physics

On the road, the Cayenne Electric impresses with its stability despite its significant mass. "Thanks to the air suspension, rear-wheel steering, and intelligent electronics, it remains incredibly stable, even during brutal acceleration out of corners," reports the journalist from Autoblog.nl.

The Porsche Active Ride system available on Turbo versions adds another dimension to chassis control. This active suspension with dual chambers and adaptive dampers allows for a blend of ride comfort and sporting precision.
