2026 Audi Q3 Review: 255 HP, Redesigned, Premium Tech

The Audi Q3 2026 arrives with a 255 horsepower turbo engine, a redesigned look, and a cabin loaded with tech. Ingolstadt's compact SUV is aiming higher with a starting price of $44,995 in the United States, delivering about 27 more horsepower than the previous generation.
"We've gained two cubic feet of cargo space thanks to the 40/20/40 sliding rear seats, a significant improvement for a compact vehicle" — Audi, Q3 development team
A Design That States Its Ambitions
The 2026 Q3 ditches the discreet profile of its predecessor for a more imposing silhouette. At 178.4 inches long (that's 4.5 cm more than the old model), it now surpasses the BMW X1 by 3 cm and the Volvo XC40 by 9 cm. The redesigned Singleframe grille and sculpted bumpers give it a more assertive road presence.
The real novelty hides in the lighting. The Matrix LED headlights with micro-LED technology project information directly onto the road: lane change markers, automatic adaptation based on speed, blind spot warnings. At the rear, the OLED taillights and illuminated Audi emblem mark a first for the Q3.
A Single, But Muscular, Powertrain
Gone is the choice between several engines. The 2026 Audi Q3 offers only one powertrain: the 2.0 TFSI with 255 horsepower and 273 Nm of torque. That's 27 horsepower and 22 Nm more than the old base version. This power is channeled through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and standard quattro all-wheel drive.
According to Car and Driver, this power gain is noticeable in daily driving. The Q3 now launches with more conviction, even if official performance figures haven't been released yet. The steering remains precise, a characteristic of German compact SUVs.
Starting at What Price?
In the United States, the Audi Q3 starts at $44,995 in the sole S Line Quattro trim. This positioning places it between the Mercedes GLA 250 and the BMW X1, but with more generous standard equipment.
A Cabin Redesigned Around the Screen
The interior of the 2026 Q3 breaks cleanly with the past. The curved panoramic 12.8-inch screen dominates the dashboard, accompanied by an 11.9-inch virtual cockpit. The whole setup, oriented towards the driver, integrates navigation, media, and vehicle settings into a simplified touch interface.
The 40/20/40 split rear seats now slide to free up more cargo space. According to Jalopnik, the Q3 gains two cubic feet of usable volume thanks to this flexible configuration. The materials also get a refresh with wood inserts and contrasting stitching.
Onboard Technologies
The new-generation MMI system integrates wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The inductive charging pad has a dedicated spot in the center console. Audi connect allows remote control of certain functions via smartphone.
On the safety front, parking assist with a 360° camera and adaptive cruise control are on the options list. The adaptive Matrix LED headlights remain the technological centerpiece, even if their daily usefulness is debated according to EcoloAuto.
Facing the Competition
In the premium compact SUV market, the Q3 takes on the BMW X1 (starting at €38,000), the Mercedes GLA (€42,000), and
