The Audi Q3 2026 reveals its more assertive lines with a completely redesigned look and cutting-edge technology. The German compact SUV grows by 47 mm to reach 4.53 meters and adopts a turbo 2.0-liter engine with 255 horsepower as standard, with a starting price set at $44,995.

A Design That Gains Character

The new generation of the Q3 breaks with the restraint of the previous version. The Singleframe grille grows larger and features a more pronounced hexagonal pattern, flanked by Matrix LED headlights with optional micro-LED technology. These integrate dynamic projectors that automatically adapt to driving conditions.

At the rear, a continuous light bar connects the redesigned LED taillights. This luminous signature, which has become an aesthetic code for Audi, is accompanied by illuminated rings that can be customized according to the chosen trim level.

High-Tech Cabin and Enhanced Modularity

The interior reflects a decidedly modern approach. The 11.9-inch virtual cockpit faces a 12.8-inch MMI touch screen, forming a panoramic curved ensemble oriented towards the driver. This configuration is reminiscent of the brand's higher-end models.

The 40/20/40 split rear bench slides over 130 mm and can be reclined to optimize comfort or free up cargo space. The trunk volume thus varies between 530 and 1,525 liters depending on the chosen configuration.

What's Under the Hood?

The Q3 2026 abandons entry-level powertrains to focus on a turbo 2.0-liter TFSI engine with 255 horsepower. This unit, paired with standard quattro all-wheel drive and a 7-speed automatic transmission, allows for a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 6.4 seconds.

This power increase represents a considerable leap compared to the previous base Q3 which produced 150 horsepower. Audi is now betting on a more premium approach, even if it means abandoning the most accessible versions.

Technical Inspection Performance: Room for Improvement

According to the TÜV-Report 2026, the previous generation Q3 (2018-2025) shows mixed results during technical inspections. While overall reliability proves to be acceptable, the brakes constitute the model's recurring weak point.

Brake discs and pads show signs of premature wear, particularly on the more powerful versions. This issue, already identified on the first generation Q3, seems to persist despite technical evolutions.

💡 Technical Point
Audi has issued several recalls for the previous Q3: cracked rear window, loose engine cover, and a defect on the passenger airbag.

What's the Starting Price?

The entry price for the Q3 2026 starts at $44,995 in the United States, representing a substantial increase over the outgoing model. This rise is explained by the enriched standard equipment and the more powerful engine.

In France, prices are estimated to start around 47,000 euros. The Sportback version, with its sloping roofline, commands a premium of approximately 2,000 euros.

Direct Competition and Positioning

Facing the BMW X1 which starts at 42,500 euros and the Mercedes GLA priced from 41,200 euros, the Q3 deliberately positions itself in a more premium segment. This strategy aims to preserve margins while embracing a clear move upmarket.

The Volvo XC40 Recharge, a direct competitor in plug-in hybrid form, offers a different approach with a similar price but an electrified powertrain.

💡 Key Figure
47% of Q3s sold in Europe are Sportback versions, while only 33% are equipped with quattro all-wheel drive.
